Subject: [ZOOARCH] decidual big cat tooth?
To: [log in to unmask]

Dear zooarch,

From a upper paleolithic context, I have this tooth which looks a decidual one, as the root is very thin and it´s not close. http://alexandriaarchive.org/bonecommons/items/show/1930

I thought it could belong to a big cat such as Panthera pardus or Panthera spelaea.

Any idea to distinguish decidual teeth between these two taxa? what do you think it is?

Best wishes,
Ana
