The shorter the better. We try and have the total time from taking them into the scanner room to taking out of the scanner room be less than 2 hours for elderly controls and an hour maximum for MCI and AD subjects. You could maybe stretch that a bit, but I wouldn't try to push it much beyond those times.
There is no real max, except for subject comfort - which is why you want to stay below those times.
