How the HEAR is supporting student employability
17 December 2013, Swansea University
By providing every student with an individual electronic HEAR it can provide the focus for employability from the time the student first arrives at the university. Delegates will learn about the implementation process of the HEAR and the roll out, how skills related to their academic studies and non-academic activities are included and how this has affected the employability of graduates.

Enterprise and sustainability: future thinking in curricular approaches
9 January 2014, University of Bristol
The workshop is designed for people interested in both enterprise education and ESD – groups of people who do not necessarily have opportunities to seek shared perspectives on developing future thinking in the curriculum/ explore flexible pedagogies from a common base or opportunities to better link enterprise and sustainability practically and in the informal curriculum. It is seen as the start of what we hope will become a longer term dialogue between participating institutions about the relationships between enterprise and sustainability.

Crossing the ‘employability chasm’ with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP)
24 January 2014, Blackburn College
Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP) represent a key element of government strategy for future economic development. Within the strategic plans published by the 39 LEPs around the UK, the role of HE institutions in anticipating and meeting the development needs in key industry sectors is a key theme, which should be top of mind for executive management and practitioners alike in HE when planning future provision.

This event provides an opportunity for practitioners from HE institutions (and particularly HE in FE) to engage with senior representatives from a prominent LEP (Lancashire) to share best practice around employability using LEP key themes and drivers as a focal point for building informed capability.
