Would you like to develop your marketing skills or are you simply looking for a bit of inspiration?

Come along to the first 'introduction to marketing' workshop specifically designed for all staff working in the museum sector in Wales. It will be particularly useful for those staff whose role includes curating, exhibiting, event organising or marketing and communications.

Thursday 5th December, Cardiff Story, 10am - 4pm

The workshop will cover the core foundations of marketing and communications and will create the basis for more advanced training in the future.

The following topics will be covered -
				*         Marketing and Publicity
				*         Campaign Planning
				*         Evaluation
				*         Press & PR Planning
				* Working with the Tourism Sector

The workshop will be delivered by -
*	Nick Beasley - Chief Executive, Audiences Wales
*	Catrin Taylor - Press & PR, Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales
*	Bev Jenkins - Visit Wales
By the end of the workshop you will have:
		* an understanding of the role and function of marketing, publicity and campaign planning within a museum context
		* greater knowledge of the evaluation process
		* more confidence in writing press releases and communicating with the media and key stakeholders
		* ideas for using social media to promote news stories
		* more awareness of working with the tourism sector
The workshop will be fully participative, with opportunities throughout to share ideas and good practice and to raise questions and concerns. A free buffet lunch is included!
Please note - this initial workshop will be evaluated and it is hoped additional sessions will take place across Wales in the New Year.

Please see attached for more details about the workshop including topics covered and information about the trainers.

This training forms part of the Welsh Government's Museums Marketing Strategy for Wales 2013-2016.
