The Race Equality Foundation is a national charity which seeks to promote race equality in social support (what families and friends do for each other) and public services (what 'workers' do with people who need support).  We are Strategic Partners of the Department of Health and Department for Education, and work in partnership with a number of organisations on the local, national and regional level.

We are currently seeking a volunteer to help manage the content on our websites.  A number of our projects (notably Better Health www.better-health.org.uk and Better Housing www.better-housing.org.uk) seek to collate and distribute evidence-based resources and good practice guidance from across the health, housing, social care and equality and diversity sectors in order to help practitioners embed race equality in their everyday work.

The volunteer would be responsible for selecting and cataloguing resources for these sites, ensuring that content is relevant and up to date.  In particular, we are seeking volunteers who are currently studying for or who are planning to undertake a library and information qualification.

The position can be based in our central Manchester or North London offices, or working from home.  Working hours are flexible.

To apply please send your CV, alongside a short covering letter and ethnic monitoring form (14.7kb Word file).
