ALISS  Visit to Science Museum Library 3rd December
2-3pm

ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information professionals in the Social Sciences). http://www.alissnet.org.uk  are pleased to announce an opportunity to visit
The Library of the Science Museum (London).
The library holds extensive collections on the history and public understanding of science, medicine and technology. As a research library it is  open to all . The visit will incorporate a tour of the service, an introduction to services/collections offered on the London site and in Swindon and an opportunity to meet staff and hear about their work.
Following the tour staff have recommended   visiting the Alchemy exhibition currently on in the Science Museum which displays a fine collection of rare books on alchemical works. There is also selection of Charles Babbage's drawings and notebooks from our archive collections on display in the history of computing gallery.

The visit will last approximately  1 hour (excluding any visit to the Science Museum)

There is no charge for ALISS Members.
