Hi Cath
Just had to highlight to our learning link team that their reports aren't thorough enough having just received the first batch of the year. JCQ stating at least one test for certain EAAs I've told them we should interpret this has having a min of two test scores, and that we need to have evidence of normal way of working. I am proposing that the exams assistant I have dealing with EAAs and the learning link assistant who collates reports and organises learners' appointments for testing (and schedules in the inclass support) meet up every month to go through learners we have collated on single spreadsheet before making any applications externally. This monthly meeting will require learning link to evidence what is going on in class - they do keep very good records, which are really pointless to just copy for ours in the exams office - better to just do a check that they are ongoing and relevant. It's just about closer communication really, and ensuring exams knows really what the genuine needs of learners are.
Not a fantastic system, but hopefully a start to highlight to the college that it's not just a case of exams applying for ET, etc, without being absolutely confident that it's genuine. We also easily keep our own records of how ET and other EAAs are used by candidates in external exams, ensuring invigilators document finish times, etc, that we then file in the relevant learner's file.

Subject: Exam concessions

Hi

Could other colleges please share what information they are asking tutors to provide as evidence of normal way of working for exam concessions such as extra time. What format are you obtaining this evidence in and are you having trouble collating it.
