Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the suggestion. We thought about that however we need to be careful when grades are re uploaded as it has overwritten comments in the past. We are using SP12 currently.

Thanks

How about a human workaround
download gradecenter column
Add feedback - but only give students a mark of 1 (so students see mark = 1 and get feedback)
Put the real marks in the downloaded spreadsheet
When you wish to release the marks to students simply upload the spreadsheet

One small caveat - make sure you tell the students that this is what you are doing and why, otherwise you might get a few students panicking that they only got 1%

Andy,

Thanks for the reply.

Students see the inline comments, grader feedback as well as the grade assigned when they view it through My Grades. What we'd like to be able to do is allow them to view feedback without seeing the assigned grade.

Leman

We discovered recently that - unless we're missing something - even when a Grade Centre column is hidden, any inline comments made using the Crocodoc tool show to the student immediately.

So in that case, students will see feedback comments made inline, without being able to see their grade, or feedback added through "Grader feedback".

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to release feedback without releasing grades for assignments in Blackboard?

Any help or advice much appreciated.
