I agree,
I hope it will open a dialogue between research, freelancers and unit based archaeobotanists of how to facilitate more effective links between academic research but also the practicalities of carrying out our work day to day in a developer funded environment. I think in an ideal world a comprehensive apprenticeship scheme over several years set up between Universities and commercial units would benefit our discipline and archaeology in general. Without a structured training system we are not going to produce a steady flow effective arcaeobotanists for the future. It should also be pointed out that two of the English Heritage funded Archaobotanical Reviews mentioned in the paper are currently in progress. I am involved in to production of one them as well as working as a unit based archaeobotanist.I will climb back off my soap box.

I'm like to add my thanks to Prof. van der Veen's efforts to make the
work of herself and her team easily accessible. This type of help is
valuable to independent researchers like myself and people working in
archaeological units where access to papers is more difficult to obtain
than when attached to an academic institution. Thankyou.

Many thanks for circulating your new paper.

Thanks also for making your publications available on the Leicester
Research Archive, this is so helpful for our work.
Best wishes, Angela

Attached a new publication.
I have started to put the pdf files of my publications on
http://www.academia.edu/ including some scanned older ones. Over time I
will try and get everything on there.

Alternatively, various papers can be downloaded from:
https://lra.le.ac.uk/simple-search?query=Marijke&sort_by=0&order=DESC&rpp=10&etal=0&start=0
but due to university wide rules, only some pdf files are available from
this link.

Best wishes,
Marijke
