The position is funded through the INSIGHT Centre for Big Data Analytics (www.insight-centre.org). This is a joint initiative between researchers at University College Dublin, NUI Galway, University College Cork, and Dublin City University, as well as other partner institutions. It will bring together a critical mass of more than 200 researchers from Ireland’s leading ICT centres to develop a new generation of data analytics technologies in a number of key application areas.

The successful applicant will work on a project entitled `Statistical modelling approaches to network analytics'. The project will involve collaboration with an industry partner. Applicants should have experience and/or interest in multivariate analysis, longitudinal data modelling, categorical data analysis and the Bayesian paradigm. Interest in computational statistics and statistical programming would also be of benefit.

The starting date is as soon as possible. The fellowship covers PhD fees and attracts a stipend averaging eur18,000 per annum for four years. Applications consisting of a cover letter and curriculum vitae (including the names and contact details of three referees) should be sent to Dr. Claire Gormley ([log in to unmask]) by Monday December 16th 2013.
