Dyma ddisgrifiad o’r ffordd mae’n gweithio yn Great Ormond Street:
“Each
Tuesday morning, the Executive Patient Safety Walkround team visits a clinical
area and meets staff to explore how safety can be improved. The team is made
up of an Executive Director, a member of the Clinical Governance and Safety
team, a representative from Corporate Facilities and an Improvement
Co-ordinator from Transformation for that division.
Issues
are categorised as low, medium and high, with low and medium issues handled at
unit level. Three high priority actions are allocated to a named Executive
Patient Safety Walkround team member to follow up and resolve within one
month.
All
the issues are entered into a database that is updated weekly. The database
enables detailed searches to be made, by issue, ward, unit, priority etc and
generates an action report that is sent to the ward, Executive Patient Safety
Walkround team, general manager and unit chair.”
Ymddengys hefyd fod y term wedi’i greu yn UDA, gan foi o'r enw
Frankel, ac yn cael ei sillafu WalkRound – mae o leiaf un enghraifft o’r term
gyda symbol nod masnach ar ei ôl.

'wardround' (cyfarfod wythnosol y tîm meddygol i drafod anghenion y cleifion),
a bod yr elfen 'round' yn cyfeirio at ryw fath o gylchred sy'n dilyn trefn,
ond mae walkabout ar hap fel arfer.
Oes na lawer o wahaniaeth

Walkround
It is not a formal inspection it is more of an
opportunity to find out about the day to day running of the hospital and any
little niggles people may have. Stats are collected on the bigger picture
stuff like number of operations,number of hospital based infections etc but
this is more to do with any patient safety concerns or day to day annoyances
that could be changed e.g. A member of staff highlighting that an external
door has been broken for ages + staff are concerned with safety at night or
a wheelchair bound patient saying not all the bathrooms have wheelchair
access etc.
