Dear all,

I’m pleased to tell you that the autumn issue of Society Now is now available.

Society Now is the ESRC’s free regular magazine, containing topical science research with a focus on better policymaking and contributions to society. This issue our main feature looks at land use and why any measure of land’s real worth should look at more than just the market value of agricultural produce.

Other articles include Robert Joyce (IFS) examining the recently introduced benefits cap, Professor Gareth Myles discussing the UK tax system, and a great article from John MacInnes exploring the routine abuse of statistics.

If you wish to subscribe to Society Now, free of charge, you can do so at http://www.esrc.ac.uk/news-and-events/publications/society-now/index.aspx. The magazine is published three times a year, and the latest issue will go out to subscribers next week.

Many thanks,

Aaron
