Events Officer, Science Communication Section
Job title: Events Officer, Science Communication Section
Salary Range: up to £25,000 depending on experience and benefits
Location: Based at the Royal Society’s offices at Carlton House Terrace, London, with limited travel within the UK
The Royal Society, UK’s national academy of science, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to contribute to the Royal Society's science communication work.
The roles cover the administration and coordination of a range of events and activities facilitating the communication of science within the scientific community and to a broader public audience. The successful candidate will work with the Head of Science Communication, Manager, Science Communication and the other Events Officers to deliver:
• scientific discussion meetings;
• the awarding of prizes and associated events;
• public lectures and debates;
• the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition and soirées;
• media/communications skills training courses;
• marketing and online communication;
• other events or activities which may arise from time to time.
The work associated with the above activities will be divided between all the Events Officers, with each Events Officer taking a particular responsibility for an aspect of the Section's work. The Events Officers will also be expected to contribute to other projects outside their remit to aid the Section’s activities as a whole.
