Would the Gillick principle apply?

If they are fit enough to work etc

And make a decision about taking drugs

Then surely they can consent to the test themselves.

However - what about trainees / apprentices etc

Just thinking aloud

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Drug Screening consent in Under 18's

Any of you on the list been involved in drug screening Under 18's for
pre-employment/in employment screening?

If so, have you just obtained their consent, or have you also obtained
parental consent?

Anyone clear on the legal position?
