This course is provided by the Welsh Government and is open to staff and volunteers working in museums, archives and libraries in Wales. It is suitable for those working in archive services and museums who are keen to get to grips with preparing to submit their Accreditation applications or returns

Aim

By the end of the course participants will

·       have an action plan prepared to guide them through the Accreditation process

·       a clear understanding of Accreditation standard requirements

·       have had the opportunity to discuss Accreditation approaches with a supportive peer group

·       feel more confident and prepared about how their organisation can make the most of the Accreditation process

 

Training Methods

The day will consist of presentation, group discussion, planning and participatory exercises.

Preparation

Participants should have familiarised themselves with the Accreditation Standard and be ready to engage in discussion and take an active approach to planning.

Trainer

Trainer:  Emma Chaplin has over 17 years museum and collections management experience, working in a range of local authority and independent museum services and museum and heritage coordinating bodies as a successful consultant since January 2009. She has considerable Accreditation expertise and knowledge and is currently delivering Accreditation Advice and Support for Arts Council England.
