Dear Colleagues,

The Université catholique de Louvain invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in the field of Photophysics: Light-Matter Interaction. The successful candidate will carry out research in experimental physics on laser-matter interactions, in the field of ultrashort laser pulses, quantum information or fundamental metrology. As an example, particular interest could be paid to the real-time investigation of dynamics of electron clouds in quantum systems such as atoms, molecules and clusters, et more generally, to the study of ultrashort pulses with systems of increasing complexity. Potential applications in physics, chemistry and biology will be emphasized to promote networking within the Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences, and more generally, with the other research institutes of the College of Sciences and Technologies. The successful candidate will benefit from, and also be involved in the management of the LAS&O platform (http://www.uclouvain.be/en-398896.html).
The successful candidate will have teaching assignments in the School of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences for general courses as well as courses of the Master degree with the orientation in Light-Atoms-Molecules.
The successful candidate will have teaching assignments in the above-mentioned field(s) within the various degree programmes organised by the Faculty.

Qualified candidates are invited to submit their applications before 17 December 2013.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the dean of the Science Faculty ([log in to unmask]) or the chair of the Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences ([log in to unmask]). The position reference: 75 / SC 040 / 2014 must be quoted in all correspondence.

Sincerely,

Xavier Urbain
