Dear All,

Yesterday on BBC4 Television in the UK there was a program broadcast called THE GREAT HIP-HOP HOAX, about a duo posing as Californian artistes who were actually from Dundee, Scotland.  The program offered a fascinating insight into how "American" stereotypes are assumed and offer a passport to success that perhaps are denied to members of other nations.

I'd like to commission a review of the program for the JOURNAL OF AMERICAN STUDIES IN TURKEY (www.asat-jast.org), a biannual journal devoted to cutting-edge material in American and comparative studies.  I'd offer 750-1000 words with a December 21 deadline.  The program can be accessed via the BBC IPlayer until next Wednesday at 23.30 via the following link.

To find out more about the journal, go to www.asat-jast.org, log in using the name L_Raw, password 12345, and then go to Jast/Issues.  The link will not work using Internet Explorer but will work with all other browsers.
