A reminder of the event below for those who may have missed the email last week or read it and forgotten to respond. There has been a positive response from teachers and non-teachers from both the South East and elsewhere so anybody interested please respond to the email address found below - the more the merrier!......

South East Network Chinese teaching and GCSE discussion afternoon at Dartford Grammar School for boys - Friday 11th October from 14:00

Dear colleagues,

Whether you teach Mandarin in the South-East or elsewhere, or are a school planning to teach Mandarin in future, you are cordially invited to attend an afternoon of resource sharing, GCSE discussion and networking hosted by Dartford Grammar School's Confucius classroom. This is a FREE event aimed at strengthening the network of Mandarin teachers in the South East and across the UK through sharing ideas, resources and discussing the most effective methods for teaching Mandarin in the UK.

The programme will consist of the following:

14:00 - arrival, coffee and networking opportunity.

14:30 - GCSE result experiences, feedback and moderation opportunity.

15:45 - teaching of Key Stage 3 Mandarin and Chinese culture in secondary school.

16:15 - teaching Mandarin in Primary schools.

16:45 - communal resource and idea sharing plenary.

17:00 - end of programme.
