A search of Medline & PubMed this morning for all articles published since 2009 revealed the following results. The scores for Medline are as follows Number of publications = 3,268,240 Number of free articles = 909,297 This means that approximately 28% of articles indexed on Medline since 2009 are available via green & gold open access, or are free anyhow, or are post embargo. The scores for PubMed are as follows Number of publications = 4,292,452 Number of free articles = 1,240,434 This means that approximately 29% of articles indexed on PubMed since 2009 are available via green & gold open access, or are free anyhow, or are post embargo.
