I upgraded a data server. YAIM didn't complain and xrootd is running. The only thing is this
INFO: Executing function: config_DPM_https
INFO: [CONFIG_DPM_HTTPS] Skipping configuration of DPM-https - to activate add DPM_HTTPS="yes" to your <config_dir>/services/<node_type> file!
which I take as : if you want to configure it you need to enable it.
All the other tips are for the head node isn't it?

HiI have this with yes. These are all the DAV variables. For Dav you just need to not have DPM_DAV="no"
DPM_DAV="yes" # Enable DAV access
DPM_DAV_NS_FLAGS="Write" # Allow write access on the NS node
DPM_DAV_DISK_FLAGS="Write" # Allow write access on the disk nodes
DPM_DAV_SECURE_REDIRECT="On" # Enable redirection from head to disk using plain HTTP.
Thats fine - but they are the defaults so you can also just comment them out.
you know you are not really reassuring.... don't you?2) I'm on EMI2 SL6. I see Oxford and ECDF moved from EMI2 on SL5 to EMI3 on SL5 I assume I can do the same on SL6.yes the EMI2 -> EMI3 transistion is very smooth (as they have the same stuff it it)Is it sufficient to remove the EMI2 repositories and use only the EPEL one?
probably not - if you use yaim you need the update to dpm-yaim from EMI.Also the metapackage is only in EMI but that depends how you update whether you need that. For now I would say having EMI as well as EPEL is recommended though with a puppet config you could maybe avoid it.
What do you mean? - perhaps I misunderstood your question.
If you remove EMI2 and enable EMI3 and EPEL then that will be totally fine .
I interpreted your question as asking if you could enable on EPEL and no EMI repo at all .That won't work if you use yaim .

Hi,
since we are in downtime and the WNs upgrade went well, I'm going to try to use the reminder of the time to upgrade DPM too. Here are my preliminary questions:
1) When I upgraded last time and enabled WEBdav and xrootd there were manual steps to fix them. Have these been solved?
2) I'm on EMI2 SL6. I see Oxford and ECDF moved from EMI2 on SL5 to EMI3 on SL5 I assume I can do the same on SL6. Is it sufficient to remove the EMI2 repositories and use only the EPEL one?

Hi
As mentioned in the storage meeting. Ewan has noticed a problem with xrootd and dmlite in his case where the physical files on the disk servers are mounted under'/dpm'
If you have that situation then there is a workaround mentioned at :under oxford.
Apparently Sam said that it always been said that you should mount your files at '/dpm/' - but others may also be in that boat.
