GIS Consultant - London - 2-3 Months - £Neg

My client is in the process of setting up a test GIS environment in advance of a roll out to production environment to service the whole business. The contract is to start immediately and will initially run up to the end of 2013.

They have identified the need to get an extra pair of hands on the project to speed things up and get the best value from the system. You will be required to help establish functionality whilst documenting the set up and training existing staff.

We are looking for;

•Knowledge of GIS ‘architecture, server build and config – thus able to work hand in hand with ESRI experts and pick up our deployment as it is put in place
•Ability to establish data in an organized and clearly referenced way (establishing what we build on in the future)
•Ability to realize early deliverables – these around displaying the following initially in our test environment and then transferring to the Production set-up
ocomprehensive background layers
oAsset data sets (highway infrastructure, e.g. signs, lights, crash barrier, highway, (a mixture of point, line and polygon)
oProject locations (from our forward plan) – showing different plans for different time slots
oTransferring / rationalizing some existing Silverlight ‘views’ / functionality (reducing number of map services needed thus speeding up performance)

So in summary, quite an experienced set of hands that can make progress for my client in the short term and then facilitate uptake of the facility created by the clients in-house GIS practitioners who can then take forward upkeep / management of the environment.

If you are available and have the relevant experience please feel free to get in touch today by sending an up to date CV..
