The second phase of the Kent online German grammar project Shortcuts in German Grammar: a Percentage Approach (SCGG) project was greeted with enthusiasm by participants at the Open Educational Resources for Languages conference at Bristol University on September 20 this year, and generated further enthusiasm for collaborative participation by language teachers at other universities.

The project first identifies and rigorously analyses typical difficulties experienced by English learners of German, then offers self-marking exercises with extensive help options and an interlinked terminal glossary along with a performance analysis. It can be accessed – free – as a classroom resource as well as an easily navigable self-access help program for German learners at:

We are pleased that this open-ended project has grown over the years and is receiving interest and acclaim from other institutions, and would welcome further collaboration from colleagues from other universities.
