No I don’t think its shonky at all! If the role is per annum for 21 weeks that would be correct. I was commenting on whether that would be the pay for a full time role and therefore the role of 35 hours a week. On closer inspection, I think that the pay is £12,336 for the year which is slightly better. It’s just a shame that so many of these great and interesting jobs are part time, fixed term, etc, which can tend to undervalue the skill set that museum educators have (but that's a wider issue/moan for another day!) Applicants do need “experience of working with young people or other members of the public in a school, heritage or comparable environment.” Also, the salary is specified as per annum and not pro rata. If this is correct, I don’t make that to be £11.29 per hour, but rather around £7. When the London living wage is £8.55 an hour, this isn’t great.
