CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Consultant Improving the quality of statistical data on foreign labour in South Africa IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF QLFS MIGRATION MODULE Migrating for Work Research Consortium Summary: Duration of the consultancy: 15 November 2013 and 28 February 2014 Background: Work Package 2 (WP2): "Improving the quality of statistical data on foreign labour in South Africa" (www.miworc.org.za) Application deadline: 25 October 2013 Objectives of the work package: The consultant will be expected to conduct an in-depth analysis of results from the new Migration Module in Stats SA QLFS Q3/2012 and provide skills transfer to Stats SA staff in order to ensure the development of analytical skills within the agency. Expected outputs: 1. An in-depth analysis of the newly piloted Migration Module within Stats SA Quarterly Labour Force Survey (Q3 - 2012); 2. Skills transfer and skills improvement among Stats SA's Labour Market unit in charge of the QLFS; Coordination: Work Package 2 is coordinated by ACMS under the guidance of an Advisory Committee (AC) composed of technical advisors from the Department of Labour, the South African Local Government Association, Statistics South Africa and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
