Made in Wolverhampton (2011, 74') is the third in Kossoff's trilogy of films based on Walter Benjamin’s writing. It explores the melancholic identity and the changing nature of space in an English post-industrial city. Based on the discoveries of the city flâneur, the film uncovers the ‘horizontal history’ of the urban environment and unexpected connections between Wolverhampton and Havana confirm the city as a space of juxtaposition and cinematic montage.

"Made in Wolverhampton takes an unsexy location, and tackles it with a mordant sympathy devoid of metropolitan sneering, making it rich and fascinating. A typical post-industrial English city is rendered in all its specificity and diversity - with the traces and potentials for more fundamental change firmly held on to."
Owen Hatherley
