25th Anniversary of Tony Harrison’s The Trackers of Oxyrhynchus

The APGRD will host an exhibition and an event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the performance of Tony Harrison’s The Trackers of Oxyrhynchus
. Starting at 5pm on Saturday 23 November at the Taylorian Institute & Ioannou Centre (66 St Giles’), Oxford, speakers at the event will include Tony Harrison (playwright), Jack Shepherd (original cast), Barrie Rutter (original cast), Prof Peter Parsons (Oxford), Prof Oliver Taplin (Oxford). The talk will be followed by a re-creation of the satyr chorus performance, choreographed by Lawrence Evans and performed by original chorus members.

The event will be accompanied by an exhibition of materials from the production, including Tony Harrison’s concept notebooks. The exhibition will be open to all from 12pm on Saturday 23 November.
