Salary: £21,023-£25,922

The Parliamentary Archives provides a records management and archives service for both Houses of Parliament. It has custody of the records of both Houses of Parliament dating from 1497 to the present day.
The Parliamentary Archives is seeking a Digital Imaging Technician to support our digitisation project activities and public services & outreach work. Based in the Preservation & Access Team, the Digital Imaging Technicians work in a sub-team of two, to provide paper and digital copies of records for the public in the searchroom and in response to remote enquiries and also for the media and for use in publications, exhibitions and other outreach activities. They also create digital surrogate copies of records for long-term preservation purposes and to support online access to our collections, as part of an ongoing digitisation programme.
You will have an a strong background in the use of IT for image manipulation and processing, experience of using photographic equipment, experience of producing hard copy and digital images of heritage material, experience working of in an archive, heritage institution or similar organisation, excellent team-working and oral communication skills, sound administrative and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise your own work and respond to deadlines, proven problem-solving skills, a high level of initiative and the ability to consistently produce work of high quality and accuracy whether undertaking routine tasks for long periods or when required to work quickly and under pressure. You will also have a commitment to personal development and learning new skills.
