Summary

You will support the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) research and consultancy programmes in undertaking health economics/decision modelling research and consultancy on a range of applied policy and methodological research, funded through our research and consultancy programmes. The projects involve designing and undertaking modelling based analyses for policy and health technology appraisal for a wide range of decision makers. The funders/customers include the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) through the ScHARR Technology Assessment Group, the Department of Health through the Economic Evaluation Policy Research Unit (EEPRU), and individually funded research projects and pharmaceutical funded consultancy projects.

The work programme of HEDS involves health technology appraisal, policy appraisal, analysis of complex datasets and methodological development to support the appraisal process. Specific approaches used as part of these projects include decision analytic modelling (e.g. Markov and discrete event simulations), optimisation techniques and multivariate statistical analyses. You will work with senior staff to design evaluations, develop methodological work, undertake cost-effectiveness analyses and disseminate findings in peer-reviewed journals. You will be encouraged to develop your own methodological research interests that are complementary to those within HEDS.

This post is fixed-term for two years.
