Hi Eugene,

Until the colonial era, Alutiiqs from Kodiak Island in Alaska traveled to the mainland or traded with its inhabitants to get caribou antler for tools -- no cervids on Kodiak.  I can send you a reference if this is along the lines of what you're looking for.

Hi again, I would like to expand my original query to ANY prehistoric sites. To reiterate, I'm looking for data concerning the presence of unusual species (that is, species found outside of their normal range of distribution) in faunal assemblages, be them contemporary with the rest of the assemblage or intrusive. References would especially be appreciated.

Best,
Eugene
