Fascinating to learn that limestone blocks were taken from glacial moraines over there.  That would befuddle any of us glacial geologists doing stone counts on the moraines for provenance studies!

Graham - it's not a theory, there are plenty of examples of all three in the area between Bingley and Burnley - usually taken from moraines.  So it depended on what geology the glacier(s) had passed over, as opposed to what was under the immediate area.
