GIS Data Manager - Avon - £30k-£40k per year We are currently recruiting for an exciting position for a client in the South West. Please see the details below. Job Description We currently have a vacancy in our Asset Data Management team for an experienced GIS Data Manager. This key role manages the resources who undertake asset data editing to the corporate asset systems. The role also technically coordinates the editing teams work methods and ensures that procedures and processes are fit for purpose. The role liaises within the Asset Data Management Team over systems support and development for editing requirements. The role requires experience of the Esri suite of ArcGIS editing tools and architecture... Technical skills required: • Exposure to ESRI technology in a business environment essential • Knowledge of the water supply and sewerage networks is preferred. • ArcGIS Editor (9.3 and/or 10.0 or later) experience preferred • SQL Server 2005 / 2008 experience preferred • Microsoft Office 2010 advanced skills preferred Responsibility Areas: • Manage the team who deliver the GIS network asset data maintenance service for the company. • Liaison within the Asset Data Management Team regarding GIS software and data. • Act as the focal point for GIS data maintenance requirements within the company. • Undertake required data processing, QA of quality and consistency • Business wide liaison to support GIS network data editing • Ownership of the formal and informal processes and procedures required to maintain GIS network data Personal competencies for the role: • GIS academic qualification degree level or similar • an effective team leader capable of motivating and encouraging improvements and efficiencies • the ability to communicate effectively on a wide range of technical subjects throughout the company • the ability to work effectively in an office based environment • good attention to detail and accuracy • the ability to work under moderate supervision with self motivation and initiative • good organisational skills.
