We use C & G for all of them. They were debating on using Edexcel for the Apprenticeship FS but the teachers said it would be “too confusing” for them to teach from 2 boards so it’s all Sweaty & Guilds for us.

Oh no unfortunately not!!! Teachers run mocks ha ha ha!!!!! They are run as formal exams so if they happen to pass the “mock online” (which is actually a real live test) then they don’t have to re-do it and can move onto the next level. The Entry level ones are the practice tests off Smartscreen as these students will need more teaching/learning.
We specify that we have to have 2-3 weeks’ notice for all online and Entry level bookings so that we can schedule the tests, send out timetables and book invigilation staff. For any L1/2 Paper-based exams we have a 4 week lead time.

We run a similar system to you with specified exam window purely because of the large numbers of students taking FS exams.

In May and June we only have final re-sits purely because of the main summer GCE/GCSE exams taking place.
Last year they let them re-sit and re-sit and re-sit but they still didn’t pass so this year I said they get the one free re-sit session as shown above and then only the ones who were borderline fails can re-sit in May/June.
For ICT we do this on demand because we have low numbers for Functional Skills.
