Hi Lynne
We do the progressions using EBS Client to enter the appropriate progress code and progress date. Our system obviously does something magical behind the scenes that I’m not privy to, as we simply use the session
end date as the progress date as long as this isn’t in the future. This means we only process certification claims on or around the expected end date – but this is only for LR data. ER and WPL data is actually managed in a different system however the front
‘bit’ for us to keep consistent records is in EBS that we update but the end date is irrelevant – as long as the framework is still fundable.
Hope this makes some kind of sense.
Best wishes
Elaine

Subject: ebs Completions
Hi All
After our first full year of using ebs4 and experiencing some issues over the summer with completions could I ask how you manage the process within your centres?
At the moment due to historical working practices and the nature of our old MIS, Exams have always completed ILR fields A34-36 plus the date of completion generally the expected end date or certification date
if earlier.
Obviously the process is slightly different in ebs with the two-fold approach to qualification and learner completion in separate parts of the system and we can’t now easily access the expected end date and our
Data Quality Manager has pulled us up on entering the wrong date. When we spoke to ebs about this they advised that CIS/Registry normally complete the progress date against the learner with the actual last date of attendance being able to access this information.
Is this something other colleges do?
Thanks
Lynne
