Hi Duncan That's really helpful. They are too expensive to buy if no one can understand the voice - perhaps I will just stick to our current method. Just seems a bit of a waste to have people sitting in a room for an hour or two (normally two as most have extra time as well) when the student's don't ask for any help to read anything. Perhaps in another couple of years they will have perfected the voice a bit more. I had a play - sorry, did an in depth analysis - of one and found that I couldn't understand the voice which sounded like an early version of the one used by Stephen Hawking and that frankly I'd prefer a human being. In the same way as everything else, how would we ever get this to become the students "normal way of working"?
