Hello all, here is an last reminder about next weekend’s workshop of

ENSEMBLE IMPROVISATION led by John Britton

London, 14/15th September 2013

This workshop takes us to the heart of ensemble. Ensemble is not a mystery, it is something performers make together, moment-by-moment, in evolving relationship with one another. Starting from a basic belief that performance is joyous – that our job as performers is to pursue our joy – the workshop combines precise and rigorous physical training with solo, small and whole group improvisation.

The work is physically dynamic, challenging, joyful, necessary.

The workshop is led by John Britton. John is author of ‘Encountering Ensemble’, just published by Methuen, and is a specialist in training physical ensembles and improvisation. He has extensive international teaching experience, running regular workshops in France, Sweden, UK (where he used to run a Postgraduate Degree in Ensemble), Australia, Germany and Greece and elsewhere. He is a very experienced performer and has performed both improvised and non-improvised work in recent years in Paris, Munich, Stockholm, Leeds, Athens, Melbourne, London, Berlin, Mexico City and elsewhere.

He trains actors, circus performers, dancers, musicians and improvisors.

He is also a writer and director and is Artistic Director of DUENDE
