Please find below a job offer for a research assistant at the Institut Curie in Orsay, France.

An immediate opening for a research assistant (ingénieur d’études) is available in the Department of "Signalling, Neurobiology and Cancer" at the Institut Curie, Orsay, France, in the Lab of Carsten Janke (http://perso.curie.fr/Carsten.Janke/), 
under the direct supervision of the project leader, Annemarie Wehenkel. 
The project addresses two aspects of microtubule identity, isoform distribution and posttranslational modifications and aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of tubulin heterogeneity using a biochemical and structural biology approach.  

 

Working conditions: 

 
Full time position with an initial one year contract (renewable 1 year) on an ANR grant in accordance with French national regulations.

The working language is English.

 

Summary of responsibilities

 

The candidate will be working closely with the project leader in all aspects related to protein expression and purification.

Profound knowledge and expertise in molecular cloning and protein expression in insect and/or mammalian cell cultures is essential, and experience in protein purification would be an advantage for the position.

 

 

Job requirements

 

Applicants should have an appropriate university degree or technical school training in biochemistry, molecular biology, or in a closely related area.

 

Lab experience in molecular biology/cell culture/biochemistry is required (a minimum of 2 years).
The applicant should have excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
The candidate should show rigour, motivation, autonomy and team spirit and be
willing and able to learn new skills and assist to develop new approaches.
