Hello everyone

As promised, below is a summary of the responses I received regarding QR Codes.  Many thanks to those of you who responded- it was much appreciated.

Actually, I didn’t receive a great many responses- which would seem to indicate that QR codes are not used extensively by archives at the present time.  Where they are used it is often to point researchers towards social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter.  Little has been done to assess how effective they are, with only one institution actually knowing the numbers that had used the QR Code- and in this case the take up has been very low.

However, all agreed that although not many people seem that aware of QR codes, having them available does supply an extra means for researchers to access online information, or even adds as a general reminder that the online information is out there with web addresses display alongside the QR Codes.

Hope that helps.  If anyone has anything to add please do let me know.

With regards
