We are currently recruiting a post-doc in cognitive neuroscience of autism and I'd be grateful if you could forward this job description to anyone for whom this may be of interest. The deadline has just been extended to 22 August. With many thanks! Best regards, eva Eva Loth, PhD EU-AIMS Project Science Coordination Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Sciences Institute of Psychiatry King's College London De Crespigny Park London SE5 8AF United Kingdom Email: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Direct line: +44 (0)207 848 0106 --- We would like to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Worker in cognitive neuroscience of autism spectrum disorders. The post is available from September 2013 and funded by the large-scale EU-IMI project EU-AIMS - European Autism Interventions - a Multicentre Study for Developing New Medications (www.eu-aims.eu<http://www.eu-aims.eu>). More specifically, the position will be part of a multi-centre multidisciplinary clinical study that aims to identify cognitive and biological risk markers of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).This study is centrally coordinated at KCL and involves comprehensive clinical and behavioral characterization, neurocognitive testing (including gaze-tracking), structural and functional MRI, and electrophysiological measures in a large cohort of children, adolescents and adults with ASD, typical development and diverse learning difficulties from 6-30 years. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating data acquisition at the KCL site, including MRI scan acquisition, EEG recording and data transfer of all protocol components to a central data base. Previous experience and expertise with MRI acquisition and analyses will be essential. Further training in particular protocol components (e.g., ADOS/ ADI clinical assessments) will be provided once the successful candidate is in place, and where needed. He or she will also oversee and take part in participant recruitment. The second part of the role involves developing and leading on a clearly defined research project (to be specified depending on interest and experience) broadly focused on the link between abnormalities in bio-behavioral risk markers and clinical outcome. Beyond this rich data set the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to link with other teams and research strands pursued within the EU-AIMS project. This may include translational approaches or linking with a parallel project focused on infants at risk for autism.
