Dear all,

Here in Aberdeen, we are currently working to complete the online catalogue for the George Shepherd Pharmaceutical Collection, and as part of our most recent funding (from Museums Galleries Scotland) are trying to broaden awareness of the collection amongst members of the research community.

As a first step, we are inviting interested parties to come along and view items from the collection on 10 or 11 October this year, at Aberdeen Maritime Museum.  The exact format of the day will depend on the interest of people attending, but we hope to bring out a selection of material from the stores, and if numbers are small, may be able to include a tour of the stored collections.

Much of the growing catalogue can also be searched on our website: www.aagm.co.uk and I can forward a copy of a report by Stuart Anderson on the collection’s significance.  We are particularly keen to hear from people who may be able to utilise the archival and microfilm material for academic research.

Anyone interested in attending or who simply wants to find out more should contact me directly on the details below (preferably phone or email).

Yours faithfully,

Jenny
