Why don’t the people who satisfy ILL requests on this list subscribe to the ILL list, then we wouldn’t need to be bombarded with the requests?

Well if you have sent to lots of lists – why apologise ? You have obviously done it for a reason.

I didn’t expect people to take this comment seriously, but as a friendly colleague pointed out – it would apparently have been more acceptable if made on a Friday afternoon.

Or possibly you don’t subscribe to the other list that they are sending to and so only get the one of the emails, I can’t imagine people don’t understand what it means and so put it on regardless

(how odd??)

I can’t say it ever bothers me – it’s just a sentence that can be skipped over.

Maybe people don’t actually understand what it means, see that others have started their email in that way & think it’s a rule?
