Belt and braces, you should get the info from Land registry. We get the land registry info internally from our legal dept and we just have an internal account/cost code set up with them. You could cheat and ask your enforcement colleagues to obtain their contact details as they will not doubt be obtaining land registry info on a daily basis.

Alternatively, you can politely enquire of the tenant if they are willing to supply the contact details of the owner or, conversely, if they would contact the owner to see if they are willing to have their details passed on to you (we have done both as part of our quinquennial review work). Cuts out the direct cost but, of course, it takes time and time costs!

Subject: Listed Building notification help
Hi all,
Are there any of you out there who are responsible for dealing with notifications of when a building is listed? Under the act it states that the local authority has to inform the occupier and owner, but of course the owner may not be the occupier. In this case how do you get the information of the whereabouts of the owner? Is it a matter of enquiring with the land registry and if so do they charge?
Thanks
Paul
