The power of this forum!

No sooner had I sent my 'post' to the forum, I get an email from the ICO detailing what went wrong and that my main issue has been resolved. Hopefully things are looking up.

Subject: Re: [data-protection] ICO Notification Process

We've had the same issues over the last 2 months and its taken up hours of staff time so far :(

I feel the ICO's pain, I know how hard it is to implement a large new IT system, but yes out of our 54 notifications I am led to believe by my staff that about 52 have had errors etc. All of the points you've raised have happened to us, plus email reminders for ones we've renewed. Also duplicated numbers and then refunds for the duplication instead of using the cheque for the one it should have been for. The random names inserted is the main worry for me. Accurate data and all that...

My main frustration has been the lack of ability to correct it all when we've told them what's wrong so far. Hope they get on top of it soon and iron out the teething problems, I'm sure they're as frustrated as us. We've told all our cllrs not to fret and they'll all be renewed and to carry on councilling.

Lynn
