dear forumers, can any of you good folk help our friend Justine Huxley from St Ethelberga's centre for peace and reconciliation? Justine has been taking St E's strongly in an environmental direction in recent times, one excellent consequence of which was the final CF climate change and violence workshop there last November. Justine is challenged to impress her trustees that this is the worth the candle and tells me she need some 'big names' to quote ...........so that includes a great wadge of you good folk. thanks ever so, mark ps suggest contact Justine directly but may be cc me in, just so that I'm in the loop! on 23/8/13 7:54 am, Justine Huxley at [log in to unmask] wrote: Wondering if you could help with somethingS¯ We have a strategic planning day with the trustees in October and I want to make a case for St E¸s being more involved in environmental work (at the moment our strategy really limits what I can do in this area) I¸m collecting quotes and endorsements to back up this proposal. I¸m wondering if you would feel able to send something I could quote in my presentation? I¸m looking for anything which says: · The environmental crisis is the biggest thing happening on the planet right now · It will have a massive effect on communities, and generate local and international conflicts · Building community resilience is essential · Faith leaders need to be speaking out and galvanising their communities · Faith leaders should be prioritising building relationships and pulling together around this issue · Faith and spirituality have a vital role to play promoting the earth as sacred as a vital part of the solution. If you have a moment to bash out a few lines speaking to any of those points, or to point me towards existing quotes I can use, or other people I can also ask, I¸d be really grateful. If you do respond with a quote of your own, it would be great if you could include your job title and org as well. Many thanks Justine
