The 'table 1' is a noun To 'table 1' is a verb Why not to develop our language farther.. Felix indeed completely tabled me here. I start to realize now the inadequacy and incompleteness of my epistemological demonization of Table 1. Felix' linguistic deconstruction of T(t)able on fact adds a new hermeneutic dimension to the discussion. The transgressive-oppressive attitude of tabling independent (and particularly, native and free !) data into a rigid Table format is demeaning and condescendingly Eurocentric. Dispersing these items freely and unrestrained by reductionist convention in the text (as we already do so successfully for crystallization details) also precludes any successful data mining by aggressive monocultural entities such as the NSA or PDB. I also apologize to our German speaking fellows for being oblivious to the gender consequences of condemning DIE Tabelle which obviously outs me as an insensitive chauvinist pig.
