Good morning, Problem: I'm having regular problem with Openbugs with the appearance of a black box windows saying "illegal memory write...", from my readings it is a memory problem and it looks like it appears when too many output of the model are stored. But now I'm running my model without storing any node information until I'm pretty sure it has converged and then I start to store the node values for the last 100 000 iterations. Even that make it crashs before less than 100000 iterations, I'm storing 36 nodes. My configuration: My main concern is that it used to work for the same amount of iterations and 33 nodes. I'm running 2 or 3 Openbugs in the same time to run different models. when I'm checking the amount of CPU and memory usage of my computer. I have a 10GB RAM and only 6GB are used so not all of it. so my questions are: Is Openbugs limited in the amount of memory it can have or is it limited by the computer RAM only? If OpenBugs limits itself is it possible to increase it's internal memory? Does running severals Openbugs in the same decrease the amount of memory available for each of them? Do you think that storing 33 instead of 36 nodes would be enough to explain why now it can't even store 100000 iterations? Is 36 nodes to much and if yes what is the maximum number to store to avoid this memory problem? Does running several Openbugs in parallel decrease the speed for each of them even if the computer CPU are not used at 100%? This problem start to make me crazy as I have lost so many hours waiting to have the results and then losing everything as it is not possible to look at the result once this black box open.
