The solution was to right-click the WinBUGS shortcut and tick the “Disable visual themes” checkbox in the Settings section of the Compatibility tab. I hope this also works for you too. Would appreciate any help. I first installed the 64 bit version in c:\winbugs14 subdirectory of the 64 bit Windows 7 machine. When I try to open an existing file from Winbugs with File -> Open, I get a blackbox with illegal memory read [ad = 0000EEf6] and then a trap window illegal memory read [ad=FFD763BFH]. I do not have any problems if I were to click on an existing .odc file, which then takes me to the Winbugs environment. Also, I do not have any problems when I create a new file (File -> New) from within Winbugs. As an alternative approach, I installed the 32 bit version of Winbugs on a Windows 32 bit machine. I then copied the installed file structure to the Windows 7 64 bit machine (under c:\winbugs14) and I still get the same issues as above. Any pointers will be appreciated. Thx.
