What I found most interesting was the requirement to show that your specialisation results from 200 years experience of fieldwork and expeditions ...surely now illegal under age discrimination legislation.  And basic biology.   ;-)

What I found most interesting about this was the fact that academic publication is considered more important for a curator's post than a professional qualification.  When I started out 30+ years ago that was not unusual in the archive world.
