Long Live the Art School!
Surrey History Centre is hosting a display from the archives of the University for the Creative Arts to celebrate the history of tertiary art education in Surrey, from the late nineteenth century to the 1970s. Showcasing the academic and social history of the former Art Schools of Epsom, Farnham and Guildford, the display explores activism in the arts, war time education, women in education, prominent people involved in art schools and the social history of academic classes.

A talk by Dr Stephen Knott

This talk explores women in arts and technical education in Surrey, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Dr Stephen Knott is Founder Postdoctoral Fellow in Modern Craft from the Crafts Study Centre, University for Creative Arts, Farnham.
