James

To add to my last comment I am also working on guidance on students who are pregnant and have young children which is currently in draft form in consultation stage with functional heads across the University for comment.

We are aiming to publish it as soon as possible into the upcoming academic year. It will also cover the 'thorny' subject of children on campus providing a clearer and consistent approach and will also incorporate the location of our existing and new baby changing facilities.

Am very happy to share once agreed by our VCE and published.

She made contact with us in equalities to see what support the University could give so that should could take up the place. I contacted Academic Registry regarding the point at which disclose of the information about pregnancy could/should be made. We clarified that up until this point there would have not been an opportunity to disclose at within the clearing process.

It was also emphasised to the student that whatever is agreed would need to be reviewed as the pregnancy progresses and post birth in order to ensure that it still meets their needs and allows them to continue to meet the requirements of academic study at a degree level.
