Please circulate within your networks.* The Salford Housing & Urban Studies Unit (SHUSU) is a multiple award winning research and consultancy unit based within the College of Science & Technology at the University of Salford. SHUSU now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced researcher to be appointed to the post of Research Fellow (Grade 7) with a salary in the range of £30,424 - £36,298. The new post holder will to help shape and deliver its growing portfolio of work in the fields of sustainable consumption, fuel poverty and community resources. The successful candidate will be a vital component in providing research support to existing projects as well as developing new research and consultancy opportunities. The post is particularly suited to individuals grounded in the social sciences (i.e. psychology, sociology) but with experience of, or aptitude for, working across disciplines i.e. social policy, housing, engineering, physics, health etc. It is expected that the Research Fellow will have an existing publication record in peer review journals and be eligible for inclusion in the forthcoming REF exercise. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic externally focussed team and in partnership with colleagues from across the University. In particular the post-holder will be required to work closely with colleagues in the University’s Applied Buildings and Energy Research Group (ABERG) to develop research linked to the University’s Energy theme. It is expected that some of the research and consultancy will involve utilising the University’s world leading facilities including the Salford Energy House and working with a wide range of academics and industry partners.
